STOCKHOLM, Sweden (September 17, 2026) — Volvo Cars announced today, ahead of an investor day, that it will launch 13 new models through 2030 — the largest and most ambitious global product push in the automaker’s 99-year history.

“Our product offensive builds on four unique strengths: regionalized product offerings, leadership in electrification, unique synergies with Geely, and complete customer offers that goes beyond the car alone.”

– Håkan Samuelsson, President and CEO of Volvo Cars

Of the 13 new models, seven are earmarked for Western markets, including Europe and North America, and will be built on the automaker’s SPA2 and SPA3 platforms. The remaining six are reserved for China and developed in partnership with sister brand Geely Auto. Volvo said the lineup will include both EVs and third-generation hybrids, will expand into new segments beyond its current SUV-heavy range, and hinted at a possible return to the wagon body style. As part of the push, Volvo is also targeting an increase in component commonality across the wider Geely Group, from roughly 10 percent today to 30 percent by 2030.

Design will play a central role in the new lineup: Thomas Ingenlath is returning to Volvo as chief design officer after seven years leading sister brand Polestar, and will direct a new styling language set to debut on a concept car in 2027.

The product offensive comes as Volvo works to improve profitability, with the automaker targeting an EBIT margin above 8 percent, up from 3.5 percent in 2025.
