SUN VALLEY, ID (June 1, 2023) ― Sun Valley Tour de Force and presenting sponsor McLaren Automotive welcome car fans from near and far to celebrate the event’s sixth year, July 20- 22, 2023. Named the most “unique car event in the country,” the fundraiser supports The Hunger Coalition, a local nonprofit serving community members experiencing food insecurity.

“We are incredibly proud to celebrate McLaren’s 60 years of success at SVTdF. Our continued partnership with the McLaren team, and the chance to display these supercars for SVTdF fans, is an honor for us.”

Whitney Werth Slade, Co-Founder of Sun Valley Tour de Force

“We are so fortunate to have found this gem of a supercar weekend that replicates all that McLaren stands for – fun, family and community. Everything about Sun Valley Tour de Force is a partnership and both our customers and our media love it. And the best bit, it is all in aid of charity.”

Roger Ormisher, Vice President, Communications and Public Relations, McLaren, the Americas

McLaren Automotive, creator of luxury, high-performance supercars will showcase its newest model, the McLaren 750S, at this summer’s Sun Valley Tour de Force. The 750S defines a new benchmark for supercar performance and driver exhilaration. The lightest and most powerful series-production McLaren, the new V8-engined, rear-wheel drive 750S – which is available in coupe and convertible form – is unashamedly a supercar for the purist. It shows ferocious performance, with the 750S capable of 0-60mph in 2.7 seconds and 0-124mph in 7.2 seconds.

Stefan Johansson, retired Swedish racing driver who drove in Formula One for McLaren, will drive the McLaren 750S on a closed state highway at Sun Valley Tour de Force.

Johansson shares that McLaren always made the driver feel like they were the most important person in the world. “Everything was laid out for you, every little detail was taken care of, which was so refreshing. When you went there for a seat fitting they had a room with a driver’s suit in every size, and racing shoes in every size, and you just put your gear on and everything was prepared and ready to go,” said Johansson. He adds, “I’ve got nothing but good things to say about the whole experience. It was probably the most educational year, and I just wish I’d had that experience earlier on in my career and had that knowledge that I gained at McLaren.”

The best place to see the McLaren supercars up close is at the SVTdF Car Show Friday, July 22, 2023 at Festival Meadow, located on Sun Valley Road. The Car Show is 5pm-8pm and free to attend. All cars participating in Saturday’s high-speed event, sponsor exhibits and local collectibles will be on display and ready for photographs. SVTdF custom t-shirts, hats, and memorabilia will be available for purchase. Car Show exhibit passes are sold out, see www.sunvalleytourdeforce.com for more information. Proceeds from the SVTdF Car Show, and all the weekend events, benefit The Hunger Coalition.

“We are tremendously grateful for the continued partnership with Sun Valley Tour de Force. The money raised will go a long way in building long-term solutions that will help more folks in our community thrive.”

Krista Felton, Director of Philanthropy, The Hunger Coalition
