Organized by Comexposium, one of the world’s leading event companies, Rétromobile is poised for an exceptional year in 2026, for two reasons. In Paris, the show will celebrate its 50th anniversary, while on the other side of the Atlantic, the first American edition will be held in the heart of New York. It is in this context that Comexposium and Rétromobile are delighted to announce the signing of a multi-year partnership agreement with Gooding Christie’s auction house.
This collaboration will offer collectors the finest selection of vehicles up for auction for this anniversary edition and the others to come in Paris and New York. After a record-breaking 2025 edition that attracted 146,000 visitors from around the world to Paris, Rétromobile, true to its mission as a showcase for the classic car industry, has now chosen to cross the Atlantic. In 2026, this second edition of the iconic show, the result of a partnership between Comexposium and duPont REGISTRY Group, will offer a unique event for enthusiasts and collectors across the North American continent.
In both Paris and New York, this show showcases a wide variety of vintage and rare classic cars, heirs to more than a century of automotive history. This showcases the historical and cultural significance of these fine machines, as well as the richness of their manufacturing, innovation, and design. More than just a show, Retromobile is a celebration of the finest aspects of the automobile, with highlights starting in 2026 including auctions under the hammer at Gooding Christie’s, which promise to be of the highest quality.
Since its founding in 2003 by David Gooding and his wife Dawn Ahrens, Gooding & Company has established itself as one of the world’s leading auction houses in the collector vehicle market. As a result, the auction house holds numerous world records for the most prestigious brands (including Ferrari, Bugatti, Porsche, and Duesenberg).
“We are proud to announce our very first auction in Europe as Gooding Christie’s, and what better event to partner with than the illustrious Salon Rétromobile, Europe’s leading collector car event. Rétromobile has been a vibrant show for 50 years, where the most prominent collectors and dealers trade in the most important vehicles. We look forward to taking center stage at the events in Paris and New York.”
– David Gooding, Chairman of Gooding Christie’s
Founded in 1766, Christie’s is a global leader in the art and luxury goods market, present in nearly fifty countries (in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific), with international salesrooms in New York, London, Hong Kong, Paris, and Geneva. Since September 2024, Christie’s has owned Gooding & Company. Following this transaction, the auction house took the name Gooding Christie’s.
“The Rétromobile team is organizing a wonderful event for the global automotive community in the heart of Paris, and we couldn’t be more excited about our new partnership as the official auction house.” In addition to the Paris event, the New York edition provides a spectacular venue for our new North American auction and allows Gooding Christie’s to take a new step in its growth and expansion in the international classic vehicle market.”
– Francis Belin, Chairman of Christie’s Asia-Pacific
“During my travels in the United States, I had the chance to attend several sales orchestrated by David Gooding and his team. The quality of the collections on display is simply exceptional. It is this expertise, these values, and the reputation of this auction house that attracted us, as well as Christie’s international footprint and expertise in the art and luxury goods sector. There is no doubt that this new collaboration will be one of the highlights of this 50th edition.” The entire Rétromobile team joins me in welcoming the Gooding Christie’s teams to the great Rétromobile family!”
– Romain Grabowski, Director of Rétromobile
“Who better than Gooding Christie’s to lead the auction at the new Rétromobile New York show?
“One of the greatest experts in the classic car market, David Gooding, in partnership with the prestigious Christie’s auction house. With this new partnership, Rétromobile New York is once again giving itself the means to best prepare for a unique event in Manhattan from November 19 to 22, 2026, to the delight of American collectors and our future visitors.”
