It takes quite a lot of reserve not to drive the hell out of an LS1 Trans Am with 327 bhp/345 ft-lbs. torques and a ZF 6-speed gearbox, but the owners of this one held themselves to less than 3,400 miles. It is a limited-production Firehawk, tuned by SLP Engineering and sold through Pontiac dealerships (along the lines of Dinan for BMW). As one would expect, it is reported to be in brand new condition and there’s nothing in the photos to suggest otherwise. If a fourth-gen Firebird has been on your Christmas list, you likely won’t find a better one. Enjoy the muscle or continue to preserve for a future Mecum or Barrett auction. This one’s likely to generate a few what is that? questions. The suicide doors and elegant lines hint at a British marque. But even the answer, “a Lancia” will leave most people scratching their heads. What it is is a Series 2 Appia, the smaller iteration of the Aurelia that perhaps more gearheads are familiar with. With its 1,100 cc hemi-head V4 putting out 48 hp, it won’t arouse any of the sporting character of its V6 sibling but it is nevertheless a comfortable tourer that has a classic luxurious presence. This one looks to be in solid condition, with rust being reported only in the battery box. Otherwise both exterior and interior appear to be excellent and the seller reports extensive mechanical refurbishing. It’s another look-rich-cheap candidate at $14,500 or best offer. It’s not unusual to come across a 123 wagon (or estate) in the form of a 300TD Turbodiesel. There were nearly 37,000 of them built and with their stalwart motors and build quality, many are still on the road. You might even occasionally spot the lovely petrol-motored coupés. Finding a wagon with the legendary M130 fuel-injected inline six, now that is unusual. Pair that with a 5-speed manual gearbox and you’ve got something really special.
This one is a European model (no petrol wagons were ever offered by MB NA) with a clean California title, having spent all but 6,800 of its 190,000 miles in the States. That is a fair amount of miles, but it has an impeccable service history and looks to have been meticulously cared for. Paint, brightwork and glass look to be very good and proper for a nearly 38-year-old car. The interior shows some typical 123 cracking in the dash (a fitted dash cover is included in the sale) as well as spidering in the wood trim but all appropriate for the age. The Thistle Green exterior suits it perfectly (as does the svelte Euro bumper) and makes for a nice combination with the beige leather interior.

As the “entry-level” 911, the 911T was by far the best seller, with around 15,000 units shifting between 1967 and 1973, most coming from the later 2.2- and 2.4-liter years. So while this example from 1970 (first year of the 125-hp 2.2) isn’t particularly rare, it is still a “longhood” 911 that regularly eclipses six figures at auction. Here’s an opportunity to get into a mostly original, mostly solid, mechanically sound early 911 for what could prove to be a bargain price. It would make an excellent driver while the market continues to grow where a future owner might consider restoring to No 1 condition. It’s here on Craigslist for $69,000.
