A 1960 DeTomaso Mangusta, being offered at no reserve, has sold at Auction America by RM for $69,000 plus fees at their Spring Auction. It would seem a bargain given the auction company’s estimate of $120,000-$150,000. The catalog description follows:

This 1969 mid-engine DeTomaso Mangusta gets its muscle from a 302-cid, 220-hp Ford V-8 coupled to a five-speed manual ZF transmission with limited-slip differential. Showing only 36,300 miles on the odometer, its sleek, red Ghia-designed body has a center-hinged rear deck and the styling is complemented by cast-alloy wheels and a black leather interior with a full package of eight Veglia analog gauges, including tachometer. The Italian sports car has four wheel disc brakes and features air-conditioning, power windows, AM/FM radio and a driver’s-side remote outside mirror. The car has been in storage since it was last shown at Detroit’s Meadow Brook Concours in 2005. It is reported that approximately 400 copies of the Mangusta were produced.
