NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 29, 2026) – Nissan is marking America’s 250th anniversary with a limited-run 250th Anniversary Edition of its U.S.-assembled Frontier pickup, unveiled just ahead of Fourth of July celebrations.

Production is capped at 2,500 units, all built during the month of July. The 250th Anniversary Edition is distinguished by a special monochromatic Stars and Stripes graphic on the Frontier tailgate.

The exclusive Stars and Stripes tailgate badge adds no cost to the vehicle and is available solely on PRO-4X models — including short wheelbase, long wheelbase, and Roush variants — across the full range of existing exterior colors.

The special edition also arrives alongside a significant milestone: the 1 millionth Frontier has rolled off the line at Nissan’s Canton, Mississippi plant. That achievement speaks to Nissan’s long-standing U.S. manufacturing presence, which has produced more than two million Frontiers since assembly first began in Smyrna, Tennessee in 1998.

“The Frontier has always stood for rugged capability, durability and adventurous fun – hallmarks of Nissan’s DNA. Just as importantly, it represents the strength of American manufacturing. As we celebrate 1 million Frontiers assembled in Canton during America’s 250th anniversary year, this special edition honors the workers, communities and enduring spirit that drive our industry and our country forward.”

Christian Meunier, chairman, Nissan Americas

Nissan has deep roots in U.S. truck manufacturing. The company’s first American-assembled vehicle — a compact pickup — entered production in June 1983. Frontier followed at the Smyrna plant in 1998 before moving to Canton in 2012. Today, the Canton facility employs more than 3,700 people and has built over 5 million vehicles since opening in 2003. Frontier’s standard 3.8-liter V6 engine is assembled at Nissan’s Decherd Powertrain Assembly Plant in Tennessee¹ and engineered to meet rigorous long-term durability standards.

“For 250 years, America has been defined by those who build and by the pride, skill and resilience of its workforce. American workers and U.S. manufacturing continue to define Nissan’s future as much as our past. This special edition is a proud tribute, not only to an iconic truck, but to the generations of American workers and their craftsmanship, dedication and innovation.”

David Johnson, regional senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas

Nissan is America’s fastest-growing mainstream brand², with the Frontier playing a meaningful role in that momentum — retail sales climbed 24% in May, with 6,773 units sold, the model’s strongest May performance since 2010.
