STUTTGART (March 31, 2026) – With the M-Class, the predecessor of the GLE, Mercedes‑Benz paved the way for the premium SUV segment in 1997. Since then, several million customers have chosen an SUV from this model series. The GLE owes its exceptional agility on the road and superior off-road capability to modern drive technology in particular, where Mercedes‑Benz has now once again made significant advances.

With a total of around 3,000 new or revised components, the new GLE presents itself comprehensively modernized. Distinct lighting details give the front a more striking character. Two horizontally arranged star motifs in the headlamps create a bold new visual signature. The illuminated central star and contour lighting of the larger grille optionally ensure an impressive presence. The Mercedes‑Benz Operating System (MB.OS), also new to this model series, transforms the GLE into an even more intelligent companion that understands, anticipates and evolves with its driver. MB.OS integrates and controls every aspect of the vehicle. This supercomputer utilizes artificial intelligence (AI) and powerful chips and is connected to the Mercedes‑Benz Intelligent Cloud.

The standard MBUX Superscreen brings the digital world into the GLE. Ambient styles are available as background motifs in a dedicated app. This enables customers to create a personal atmosphere in the vehicle and enjoy the brand-typical “Welcome home.” feeling. New trim elements, the warm “Beech Brown” color and further comfort features equally reinforce this impression.

Since Carl Benz filed the patent for the first automobile exactly 140 years ago, Mercedes‑Benz has continuously driven innovation forward and created vehicles that set benchmarks and are coveted worldwide. With the new cloud-based damper control with AIRMATIC, the new GLE anticipates road bumps well in advance and electronically adjusts the damping beforehand – another example of how Mercedes‑Benz continues to set automotive benchmarks even after 140 years.

The new Mercedes‑Benz GLE: Powerful, commanding, intuitive and ready for adventure

Comprehensively updated: The GLE has been thoroughly enhanced with upgrades to design, comfort and technology, and is now more powerful, intuitive and confident than ever. 140 years after Carl Benz invented the automobile, the GLE embodies a modern interpretation of Mercedes DNA – combining strength, precision, and a timeless sense of home.

More power, greater refinement: The new range of engines gives the GLE noticeably greater performance and agility, while preserving exceptional NVH comfort (noise, vibration, harshness).

Next-generation assistance[1]: Advanced computing and an extensive sensor suite – ten cameras and up to five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors ensure the highest level of safety and assistance.

Supercomputer with AI: MB.OS makes the new model the most intelligent GLE yet, integrating every function and keeping it continuously up to date through over-the-air updates.

Modern display concept: Fitted as standard, the MBUX Superscreen stretches across the cockpit as a single glass surface, creating a harmonious stage for three 12.3‑inch displays in a clear, intuitive layout.

Attentive assistant: The MBUX Virtual Assistant can conduct complex multi-part dialogs, with expressive avatars creating more personal interaction.

On track: Navigation blends Google Maps technology with the much-loved Mercedes MBUX interface and services.

Modernized design: Distinct lighting details give the front end a more striking character. Two horizontally arranged star emblems within the headlamps define the new visual signature, while the illuminated central star and grille contour lighting create an impressive presence (market‑dependent).

Analogue and digital luxury: New design elements and comfort features elevate the interior, while the steering wheel adopts the much-loved “rocker-and-roller” control concept.

Brighter and more efficient: The latest DIGITAL LIGHT technology produces a high-resolution light field that’s around 40 percent larger. The light module consumes up to 50 percent less energy than its predecessor.

Noticeably greater ride comfort: E‑ACTIVE BODY CONTROL regulates each wheel individually and stabilizes the body in almost every situation. The control units analyze the driving situation 1,000 times per second and adapt the suspension accordingly. Over longer artificial speed bumps, the GLE glides effortlessly, almost as if it’s floating on air. Thanks to new cloud-based damper regulation with AIRMATIC, the vehicle automatically adjusts the damping just before encountering a bump.

Room with a view: With over one square meter of glazing area, one of the largest panoramic sliding roofs in its class is now standard, filling the cabin with light and fresh air.

Ready for anything: With a towing capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes, the GLE handles large trailers with ease.

Freshened up: For a more pleasant and cleaner atmosphere, ENERGIZING AIR CONTROL uses a new electric filter that purifies the interior air every 90 seconds.[2]
