Seven-time Formula 1® World Champion Sir Lewis Hamilton has sold his entire collection of supercars, which included a bespoke Pagani Zonda 760 LH, a Mercedes-AMG Project One, TWO Ferrari LaFerraris, a highyl coveted McLaren F1 … and a Mini Cooper.

“I got rid of all my cars. I’m more into art nowadays,” said Mr. Hamilton, who has repeatedly said he doesn’t enjoy driving road cars. “If I was going to get a car, it would be the F40. But that’s a nice piece of art.”

Since joining Scuderia Ferrari HP, Mr. Hamilton has endeavoured to develop a back-to-basics analog supercar, like the F40.

“One of the things I really want to do is I want to design a Ferrari. I want to do an F44,” Hamilton said, “baseline of an F40, with the actual stick shift. That’s what I’m gonna work on for the next few years.”

As co-chair of this year’s Met Gala, he has already established his art-world credentials “I’m discovering more and more artists, especially great black artists,” he said about his new passion.
