WOLFSBURG, Germany (October 9, 2026) – Volkswagen has revealed the new ID. Tiguan, an all-electric midsize SUV that replaces the ID.4 and ID.5 and that the brand calls one of its most important electric models for the coming years. Built in Emden, Germany, on the updated MEB+ platform, the ID. Tiguan launches in early 2027 and will be sold alongside the current Tiguan with gas, diesel and hybrid powertrains. WOLFSBURG (September 28, 2026) – Volkswagen is continuing its naming strategy with its next model: following the ID. Polo and ID. Cross, the new ID. Tiguan will arrive at the markets in the beginning of 2027. The established name is intended to provide customers with clear orientation and stands as a strong product brand for a clearly defined vehicle concept. The new ID. Tiguan will succeed the ID.4 and ID.5 and will be offered alongside the Tiguan with combustion and hybrid powertrains. The world premiere of the ID. Tiguan will take place in early October. Shown as a near-production concept, it is the most powerful GTI ever built in series production and the nameplate’s first fully electric model. (August 10, 2026) – Volkswagen of America has unveiled the second-generation 2027 Atlas Cross Sport, a sporty five-seater midsize SUV built on the upgraded MQB Evo platform and assembled in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Shorter and lower than the 7-seater Atlas, the redesigned Cross Sport features a coupe-like profile with dramatic rear pillars, fresh sheet metal, active and dynamic lighting elements, standard 18-inch wheels on base models, and available 20- or 21-inch alloy wheels. WOLFSBURG (July 15, 2026) – Volkswagen has officially unveiled the all-electric ID. Cross compact SUV, which is built on the advanced MEB+ platform and brings premium-class technologies to an affordable segment. The packaging allows for a surprisingly spacious cabin that fits five passengers alongside 16.8 cubic feet of rear trunk space, which includes a dedicated under-floor storage area large enough for two beverage crates. An additional front trunk, or frunk, under the hood offers another 0.88 cubic feet of storage specifically tailored for charging cables and small items. Continue reading
