TORRANCE, Calif. (January 14, 2025) – Acura will bring electrifying performance to the 2025 Sundance Film Festival with the all-electric Acura ZDX as an Official Vehicle of the Festival to help the film community get to the many industry events around Park City, Utah. In this 15th year for Acura as a Presenting Sponsor at the Festival, the “Acura House of Energy” will uplift independent artists and emerging voices in film with dynamic programming that highlights the impactful initiatives of organizations such as GLAAD, WIF and Gold House.

The Acura House of Energy opens to festivalgoers Fri., Jan. 24, when the premium performance brand will host interviews, panels, mixers and premiere parties featuring A-list actors, writers and directors, live performances and more. Acura also is partnering with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) for the 27th Annual Sundance ASCAP Music Café. This year’s Café will feature exclusive sets from some of today’s most exciting artists, plus compelling conversations with the composers and filmmakers of some of this year’s most anticipated films. Acura also is hosting The IMDb Studio at the House of Energy, where IMDb will capture exclusive content from leading actors, writers and directors that will serve as the cornerstone of Sundance Film Festival coverage on IMDb.

Acura House of Energy at the Sundance Film Festival
The Acura House of Energy at Sundance Film Festival, inspired by the brand’s Precision Crafted Performance DNA, will immerse guests in a multi-sensory celebration of winter. Festivalgoers will get an exclusive first look at a new collaboration between Acura and the Ambriz Brothers, renowned stop-motion artists from Mexico, bringing together the pulse of Acura design and engineering innovation with a stunning new visual tribute to the synergy of motion and art.

Following artist Dalkhafine’s impressive mural creation at SCOPE Art Show in Miami Beach, the Ambriz Brothers are the second of five up-and-coming artists to partner with Acura on a new whimsical, winter-themed art installation in celebration of the all-new Acura ADX. While visiting the House of Energy, the Festival’s creative community will get a firsthand experience with the premium compact ADX, which boasts a youthful design, an engaging driving experience and turbocharged performance to attract a new generation of buyers. ADX is set to arrive at Acura dealerships early this year.

The Acura ZDX Type S – the most powerful Acura SUV ever – will be the first-ever all-electric vehicle included in Acura’s fleet at the Sundance Film Festival, joining MDX Type S as the Official Vehicles of the Festival, helping the film community get around Park City to the many industry events and premieres. Additionally, Acura’s lineup of performance vehicles will be on display throughout Park City, including the MDX Type S, Integra Type S and RDX A-spec.

The Acura Performance EV Concept showcases the performance brand’s vision for its all-electric vehicles of the future, with a vented hood that stretches forward from the A-pillars and prominent side vents carved into its deeply sculpted side surfaces. The concept’s aggressive front fascia draws inspiration from the high-tech form and function of hydrofoil superyachts.

The alluring contrast surfacing, expressive coupe-like silhouette and a teardrop cabin are finished in a captivating “Moonlit White Pearl” paint with a semi-matte finish. In the rear, an upswept decklid, full-width taillight and large diffuser pay homage to the second generation NSX. The sharp and distinctive tail is complemented by “ACURA” splashed across the tailgate in a new font, unique to the performance brand’s electrified vehicles.

The powerful, athletic stance and proportion of the Acura Performance EV Concept is accentuated by its long wheelbase, short overhangs and muscular wheel arches covering massive 23-inch wheels wrapped in wide 295/35R23 performance tires. The sculptural wheel design includes brushed machined edges and a unique spoke pattern with variable spacing to evoke a sense of movement even while still.

All four corners feature drilled high-performance brakes with paint-matched Moonlit White four-piston calipers. Striking neon green Acura scripting on each brake caliper ties back to the Acura Electric Vision Design Study revealed at Monterey Car Week in 2023.

The Acura Performance EV Concept is the fifth Acura concept vehicle displayed at Monterey Car Week during the last 11 years following the NSX Concept (2013), Precision Concept (2016), Type S Concept (2019) and Precision EV Concept (2022).

The Acura Performance EV Concept will make its public debut at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering on Friday, Aug. 16, with a press event scheduled for 10:36 a.m. 

Moreover, the Acura Performance EV Concept will be featured on the Concept Lawn at the prestigious Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on Sunday, Aug. 18.

Driving a turbocharged 2024 Acura Integra Type S they helped create, two Acura engineers are competing this week in the iconic 2024 Tire Rack One Lap of America, one of the most challenging grassroots motorsports events in the world. This is the first time the high-performance Acura Integra Type S is tackling the grueling eight-day cross country road rally that covers 3,500-miles and includes timed events on nine racetracks across the Midwest, May 4 – 11.

The award-winning Acura Integra Type S—the most powerful, best-performing Integra ever—is being driven by Justyn Bobinski and Nick Amato. The former is a brake and vehicle dynamics test engineer at the Honda North American Automotive Development Center (ADC) and the latter performs brake verification testing at the Marysville Auto Plant, both are based in Ohio. Fellow ADC engineers Tyler Chambers and Chad Gilsinger are piloting the 600 hp “one-and-a-half” NSX Type S supercar, back for another One Lap of America, towing the rear half of another NSX custom fabricated into the world’s hottest race trailer, that’s hauling spare tires, tools and fluids to each track event.

The Acura race team is part of the Honda of America Racing Team (HART), which consists of Honda associates across North America. The HART program embodies the Honda “Racing Spirit” by providing associates invaluable experience through motorsport, while also transferring vehicle performance learnings into the development and manufacturing of next-generation Honda and Acura products. The HART One Lap of America team is supporting the Victory Center, an Ohio-based organization that provides programs and services to cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Bobinski and Amato are using One Lap of America to further test the performance, handling, and durability of the Acura Integra Type S under extreme conditions. The high-performance Type S variant features a turbocharged 320-horsepower 2.0-liter engine, 6-speed manual transmission, an innovative dual-axis front suspension design and 4-piston Brembo® front brakes. For competition, the only modifications from stock are a racing seat and roll cage for safety, CarboTech brake pads, Red Line Oil and a custom “careers.honda.com” livery also worn by the Acura NSX Type S.

The 600 hp hybrid-electric Acura NSX Type S returns for 2024’s One Lap of America after a strong second-place finish in the Stock GT class in 2023. This year, piloted by powertrain calibration engineer Tyler Chambers and vehicle dynamics engineer Chad Gilsinger, the electrified mid-engine supercar features improved aerodynamics, reduced weight, MCS Suspension dampers, H&R springs, Red Line Oil and lightweight HRE wheels.

All modifications to both vehicles were completed by HART team members at ADC. Even the one-of-a-kind NSX trailer was constructed by a talented ADC fabrication team. An early second-generation NSX test mule was rescued from destruction, cut in half, and fitted with custom barn doors to ease access to supplies. To safely pull the trailer, the NSX Type S tow rig is equipped with a rear crash bar fabricated by ADC to accommodate the hitch receiver and the trailer has a reverse camera connected to the supercar’s infotainment system.

The 40th running of One Lap of America starts and ends at the Tire Rack headquarters in South Bend, Indiana, sending competitors through 12 states. The competition includes timed track events at many of America’s greatest motorsports facilities, including Quaker City Motorsports Park in Salem, Ohio, High Plains Raceway in Deer Trail, Colorado and Putnam Park Road Course in Mount Meridian, Indiana.

(April 23, 2024) – F1 Legend and three-time World Champion Ayrton Senna’s personal Honda NSX has gone up on sale this week on the UK’s largest automotive marketplace Auto Trader for a whopping half a million pounds.

Considered one of the sport’s greatest drivers of all time, Ayrton Senna dominated the Formula One scene in the late 80s and early 90s, winning a total of 41 races and achieved a hattrick of world titles with McLaren. Senna tragically lost his life at Imola during the San Marino Grand Prix on May 1st 1994 however his legacy continues to live on, with many in his home country of Brazil still adoring him and a critically acclaimed film depicting his life being released in 2010.

Senna’s red Honda NSX which has just gone up on sale and currently owned by Robert McFagan from East Sussex, is the Brazilian icon’s most famous NSX cars that he owned as this was kept at his Portuguese home whilst he was in the country and he was photographed washing the car in 1991. The red NSX also featured in the film “Racing is in my Blood” which showed Senna lighting up the back wheels with a wheel spin. Senna also owned two other NSX cars, a personal one in black in Brazil and another black NSX purchased for him by his manager Antonio Braga. As part of the 25th anniversary of Senna’s tragic passing in 2019, the red Honda NSX was taken to the Imola circuit and driven by Giancarlo Minardi in front of a packed out venue of Senna fans.

Built for speed and precision, the NSX boasts a powerful engine, responsive handling, aerodynamic design and delivers an exhilarating driving experience for those getting behind the wheel.

Only a handful of these models are currently in existence and so the lucky buyer of Senna’s red NSX will have a rare opportunity to own a piece of automotive and racing history.
