BICESTER, U.K. (September 24, 2026) – Broad Arrow Auctions, driven by Hagerty, has assembled a selection of seldom-seen cars with exceptional provenance for two sales. The first is its second annual Zoute Concours Auction, taking place Friday, October 9, 2026. The second is its Global Icons: Zoute Online auction, open for bidding October 5–14. The live sale will be held at the Approach Golf in Knokke-Heist, Belgium, in collaboration with Zoute Grand Prix Car Week. The lineup spans sporting stars and royalty, reimagined icons, and paddock heroes, and it is expected to draw strong interest from the international collector community.
“Collector cars come in all shapes and sizes and from all eras. Often it is the story behind a car that significantly enhances its desirability, and at the Zoute Concours Auction and Global Icons Online sale, we are proud to be presenting a selection of cars with remarkable provenance. Whether it is a unique prototype, a car owned by royalty or a car that has written its own chapter in motoring history, these are extremely desirable automobiles that we expect to inspire some exciting bidding for both buyers and sellers.”

2000 BMW M5 Volkswagen W10 Prototype ex-Ferdinand Piëch (Estimate: €250,000–€350,000)
Ferdinand Piëch played such a key role in the global auto industry that he was named Car Executive of the Century in 1999. The grandson of Ferdinand Porsche, he led the Volkswagen Group for more than two decades and pulled it back from the brink of bankruptcy in 1993, partly by instilling his passion for engineering. At the turn of the millennium, BMW dominated the performance sedan class with its E39 M5, and Piëch set out to explore a Volkswagen rival. He expanded the VR engine concept familiar from the VR6 into the W10, a 5.0-liter unit producing 473 hp and 437 lb-ft of torque.
He then installed the engine in this BMW M5. The W10 never powered a Volkswagen sedan, but it went on to form the basis of the W16 in the Bugatti Veyron. With 79 hp more than a factory M5, the prototype served as Piëch’s personal car during testing. Only three W10 engines were built. One remains in Germany, a second is included in this lot as a standalone engine, and the third sits under the hood of this one-off M5. The project was developed in secret and is believed to have cost around €2,000,000 before it was shelved. The car survives, finished in Carbon Black Metallic over black leather.
1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing Coupé (Estimate: €1,700,000–€2,000,000)
Only 1,400 300 SL Gullwing Coupés were built, and every one is collectible. This example stands apart for its originality and documentation. It was delivered new through the official Swiss importer, and its earliest recorded owner was Hans Huwyler, owner of the Touring Garage in Lenzburg. Finished in medium green with plaid seat inserts, this matching-numbers car comes with a comprehensive history, including two original logbooks that record its mileage back to 1968. The Huwyler family owned it for nearly 50 years, in Switzerland and California. Since 2006 it has been part of the collection of noted 300 SL expert Ben Valkenburg, who exported it to Belgium.
In addition to the desirable “NSL” camshafts, which added 10 hp, and Rudge wheels, Huwyler used his position as a Mercedes-Benz dealer and technician to fit rare Swiss options, including a dual-point distributor and a radiator with a special shroud for cold starts in Alpine conditions. A multiple class winner, including at the ADAC Nürburgring Classic, it ranks among the best-preserved unrestored 300 SLs anywhere.
1974 Mercedes-Benz O 317 Porsche Renntransporter Tribute (Estimate: €500,000–€700,000)
One of the most famous vehicles in motorsport history isn’t a race car at all. It is the Porsche Renntransporter, which carried the factory’s race cars to circuits across Europe. In the 1960s, Porsche turned to Mercedes-Benz for a solution and found it in the O 317, which was supplied as a rolling chassis to coachbuilders. Porsche commissioned three, and they wore some of motorsport’s most iconic liveries, including the Porsche System Engineering maroon and silver. Only two originals survive. This tribute is built on a genuine O 317 chassis and was restored for a racing driver who wanted a period-correct transporter for a 1965 Porsche 911 race car. It features new aluminum panels, a refreshed interior, and an extensively rebuilt OM 346.911 10.8-liter diesel straight-six. It is offered in the Global Icons: Zoute Online auction.
Royal Provenance
Queen Elizabeth II’s 2016 Bentley Mulsanne Extended Wheelbase (Estimate: €400,000–€450,000) is offered in Global Icons: Zoute Online. It was prepared by Bentley’s Press and Special Vehicles Department and features a bespoke Twine and Cumbrian Green leather interior with rear privacy curtains. It is one of two built; the other has returned to Bentley’s Heritage Department. The car has been honored with the Bentley Drivers Club Trophy at the Hampton Court Concours of Elegance and presents largely as it did in royal service.
The Zoute Concours Auction will also offer King Baudouin of Belgium’s 1951 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible (Estimate: €40,000–€70,000), offered without reserve. It is finished in black over tan and has been cared for by the same family since 1976.
Pete Sampras’s 2000 BMW Z8 (Estimate: €250,000–€350,000)
This Z8 is one of only 667 finished in black over black. The US-specification car was owned from new by the seven-time Wimbledon champion until 2015, when a later owner imported and registered it in Europe. It has covered only 124 miles since then and shows just 3,933 miles.
Reimagined Lancias
The 1976 Lancia Kimera EVO037 (Estimate: €950,000–€1,150,000), chassis №018, is one of only 27 built and was completed in early 2025. It is finished in Kimera Luci del Bosco, the same brown used on the Lamborghini Miura. Its 2.1-liter four-cylinder engine delivers 0–62 mph in three seconds and a top speed of 193 mph. The 1991 Lancia Delta Integrale Futurista by Automobili Amos (Estimate: €325,000–€425,000) is one of only 20 built. It has an aluminum and carbon fiber body finished in Blu Lord and an Alcantara Anthracite interior, and it has covered only 1,056 miles since its reimagining. Its turbocharged 2.0-liter 16-valve engine produces 296 hp.
Coachbuilt Classics
The 1957 Fiat 1100 TV Coupé Printemps by Vignale (Estimate: €160,000–€175,000) was styled by Giovanni Michelotti and bodied by Carrozzeria Vignale. It was comprehensively restored before its appearance at the 2006 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, and it wears two-tone ivory and dark blue paint over a dark blue interior. The 1966 Citroën DS 21 Cabriolet Palm Beach by Chapron (Estimate: €180,000–€220,000) is one of the highly exclusive models Henri Chapron built alongside his celebrated Décapotable. It is fully restored and suited to both summer touring and concours events.
Utility With Character
The 1979 Fiat 238 E Panorama Bus (Estimate: €15,000–€20,000), offered without reserve in Global Icons: Zoute Online, is a rare example of Fiat’s nine-passenger minibus. It was extensively restored in 2014 and is finished in Beige Camoscio over a matching Camoscio interior. The 1979 Land Rover Range Rover (Estimate: €85,000–€105,000), also offered without reserve, is a three-door Suffix F delivered new to France. It has covered only 755 miles since a ground-up restoration in 2015, is finished in Bahama Gold, and comes with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificate.
“Our first Zoute Concours Auction was a great success in 2025 and the selection of cars for our second visit to Zoute Grand Prix Week is perhaps even more exciting. We are looking forward to welcoming both buyers and sellers to Knokke-Heist to share in what will be a wonderful atmosphere with some truly exceptional cars you won’t find anywhere else.”
