WOODCLIFF LAKE, N.J. (September 14, 2026) – To coincide with the launch of the fifth-generation BMW X5 and the debut of the first all-electric BMW iX5, BMW is introducing two accessory lineups aimed at owners who want to sharpen the look of their new SUV or simply get more use out of it day to day. The BMW M Performance Parts range focuses on aerodynamics and design, while a separate line of functional BMW accessories is built around storage, transport, and everyday convenience.
M Performance Parts: aerodynamics and design
The M Performance range for the new X5 and iX5 is built from vehicle-specific components. M Performance front trims dress up the surfaces inside the redesigned Iconic Glow kidney grille’s illuminated frame in sporty carbon fiber, while a three-part M Performance front splitter, also in carbon fiber, adds aerodynamic function without much added weight. The lineup rounds out with a gloss-black M Performance roof spoiler and carbon fiber M Performance flow blades mounted left and right of the rear diffuser.
The exterior mirror caps and rear diffuser take a different approach, made instead from aramid fiber composite. Aramid looks, feels, and performs much like carbon fiber, but unlike carbon fiber it doesn’t block electromagnetic waves — meaning the sensors built into the mirrors and the antennas used to open the tailgate automatically keep working normally.
Wheels from 21 to 23 inches
BMW is also offering summer and winter complete wheels as part of the M Performance lineup, spanning 21 to 23 inches. The standout is a 23-inch M Performance Y-spoke 1110 M Bicolor wheel finished in gloss-milled Jet Black. Looking ahead, BMW is also planning an M Performance sound silencer system for a future M Performance version of the X5 with a V8 engine, paired with matching M Performance carbon fiber tailpipe finishers that dress up the standard exhaust.
A redesigned Aero roof box, now in three sizes
On the functional side, BMW’s new Aero roof box for the X5 and iX5 comes in 350-, 450-, and 550-liter sizes, each offering 30 liters more capacity than the equivalent predecessor along with improved aerodynamics. Matching BMW Aero and Flex luggage bags are sized to make efficient use of the space inside each box. For owners who need more room still, two BMW Flex transport box luggage bags fit inside the BMW rear box, a 300-liter unit that mounts to a BMW rear cycle carrier. The luggage bags themselves are made from durable ballistic polyester with nubuck accents, and come with ergonomic handles, a padded shoulder strap, side and interior pockets, and a separate shoe bag.
More flexibility in the back seat
BMW is also expanding what owners can do with the Travel & Comfort System mounted on the back of the front seats, which comes standard with a magnetic smartphone holder. Two optional upgrades are available: a Travel & Comfort tablet holder and a tablet holder Pro, the latter adding an extra joint for more adjustment range and a silver-accented surface. A separate Travel & Comfort smartphone adapter clips into either tablet holder and accommodates phones up to 7 inches while keeping charging ports accessible. Rounding out the accessory range, waterproof all-weather floor mats for the front and rear seats and a waterproof luggage compartment mat protect the interior and cargo area in poor weather.
