LONDON, England (September 23, 2026) — Bentley Motors has revealed the Torcal, its first car with a fully electric powertrain and one of the most significant new models in the company’s 107-year history. The Torcal is a low, sleek SUV designed in-house at Crewe, and it serves as a template for future Bentleys in design, technology, craftsmanship, materials, and sustainability, regardless of powertrain.

“For 107 years, Bentleys have been the most incredibly complete cars — effortless performance, outstanding comfort, exquisite British handcraftsmanship using the best natural materials, and a soundtrack with soul. Our new Torcal sets extraordinary benchmarks in every area that matters.”

– Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Chairman and CEO of Bentley Motors

A New Design Language Rooted in Bentley DNA
Led by Design Director Robin Page, Bentley’s design team shaped the Torcal around what it calls four “reads,” the order in which people naturally take in an object.

“When we design a Bentley, we consider how people naturally perceive an object. You don’t experience a car all at once. There is a hierarchy to what you see and understand, which we describe through four ‘reads.’”

– Robin Page, Design Director of Bentley Motors

The first read is proportion. A long wheelbase, short overhangs, and a proud front end give the Torcal a powerful stance, expressing Bentley’s design principles of “upright elegance” and an “endless hood.” The second read is graphics. Up front, the illuminated diamond grille and advanced lighting reinterpret cues from icons such as the Continental T. At the rear, clean graphics form the “prestigious shield” first explored on the EXP 15 Concept Car. The third read is surfacing. Unnecessary lines have been removed, and the cabin tapers toward the rear so the body can build over the rear wheels, creating muscular haunches the designers describe as a “resting beast.” The fourth read is detail. A diamond motif recurs throughout the car, sometimes explicit and sometimes abstracted into surfaces and textures. The Torcal is also the first Bentley to wear the company’s redesigned emblem, revealed last year.

Inside, the dashboard architecture draws on the Bentley wings for symmetry and balance, while broad, clean surfaces showcase leather, wool, veneer, and aluminum. Knurled controls and reinterpreted bullseye air vents remain, and physical controls stay on the center console and steering wheel for functions occupants naturally want to touch. Curved OLED screens, unique to Bentley, provide deeper blacks and more vibrant colors. An augmented-reality head-up display projects navigation and driver-assistance markers directly into the driver’s field of view.

Performance True to Bentley’s Lineage
The Torcal uses two permanent-magnet synchronous motors, both dry-sump designs filled with oil for life. The front motor drives through an open differential, while the rear motor uses a locking differential with a multi-plate clutch on each output shaft. Power comes from an 800-volt battery made up of 192 lithium-ion pouch cells, with a net capacity of 113 kWh, covered by a 10-year, 100,000-mile warranty. Bentley says it deliberately capped acceleration at a level customers find exhilarating rather than uncomfortable, keeping the driving experience accessible, progressive, and sophisticated.

Fully active suspension appears on a Bentley for the first time. Paired with adaptive two-valve dampers, each corner can be raised or lowered instantly in response to the road and the driver. That eliminates the need for anti-roll bars, since the dampers provide infinitely adjustable anti-roll control. Standard electronic all-wheel steering turns the rear wheels up to five degrees, shrinking the turning circle to about 36.4′. Standard iron brakes use 16.5″ front and 14.6″ rear discs. The optional carbon silicon carbide ceramic system steps up to 17.3″ front discs, jointly the largest in the world alongside other Bentleys, and 16.1″ rear discs. Calipers come in black, red, or gray, with three more colors available through Mulliner. Bentley says the Torcal is as comfortable as a Flying Spur and as dynamic as a Continental GT Speed.

Two Models at Launch
The core Torcal produces 810 hp and 881 lb-ft of torque, reaches 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, and tops out at 155 mph. It comes standard with 21″ wheels, satin silver brightware, a single-tone color split, and Open Pore Crown Cut Walnut veneer.

The Torcal S produces 876 hp and 996 lb-ft with Launch Control engaged, reaches 60 mph in 2.8 seconds, and tops out at 162 mph. It adds 22″ ten-twin-spoke wheels, black brightware and mirror caps, dark taillights, a rear diffuser, sport sills, front bumper strakes, and red brake calipers. The S also gets S fender badges, black Bentley wings badges, a dedicated color split with its own quilting and stitching, sport pedals, Piano Black veneer, illuminated treadplates, and dynamic “waterfall” mood lighting. Five wheel designs are offered at launch, including an aerodynamically focused 22″ option, with summer, winter, and all-season tires available.

Everyday Usability
At about 16′5″ long, the Torcal is the shortest four-door in Bentley’s lineup, yet it offers about 16.2 cubic feet of cargo space in the rear plus a 3.2-cubic-foot front trunk. Range is up to 375 miles. At 400 kW, the battery charges from 10 to 80 percent in just under 20 minutes, and seven minutes adds about 100 miles of range. A suite of 25 radars, sensors, and cameras supports the driver-assistance systems. These include a feature that automatically reverses to a previously identified passing point when the car meets an obstacle on a narrow road, as well as trailer, garage, and parallel parking assistance, app-based remote parking, and parking maneuvers that can be “trained” into the car. All four doors are radar-controlled and power-operated. Passengers can close theirs by fastening their seat belts, and the driver can close theirs by pressing the brake pedal. Facial recognition loads each driver’s preferences automatically, and a Mobile Device Key lets a smartphone act as the key. A new Frosted Diamond switchable-glass sunroof lets occupants tailor the light in the cabin.

Comfort and Experience Modes
The all-new seats offer 16-way adjustment, heating, ventilation, adjustable bolsters, and massage as standard. Bentley’s Postural Adjust and Smart Seat Climate systems are optional. The Wellness Seat Specification extends massage into the seat cushion, so it reaches the legs as well as the back and shoulders. The three-passenger rear bench is the first power-folding rear seat in a Bentley.

Four Experience Modes coordinate lighting, sound, climate, airflow, and on-screen information. Bentley Mode is warm, dynamic, and driver focused. Comfort Mode is calmer and includes a “digital detox” option that hides all but essential information. Sport Mode is the most immersive and purposeful setting. Refresh Mode increases fresh-air circulation and brightens the lighting.

A Handcrafted Soundscape
Bentley’s engineers found that the rhythm of the company’s V8 was central to its appeal. Rather than imitating an engine electronically, they recorded real instruments, including drums, viola, and bass guitar, to create the Bentley Dynamic Symphony, complete with subtle variations and tiny imperfections. The low-frequency sound responds to torque demand and vehicle speed to give the driver predictable feedback. It grows louder in Sport Mode and can be switched off entirely. The turn signal sound was recorded in Bentley’s upholstery workshop from a hammer striking leather, and the touchscreen and digital assistant tone comes from a crystal glass. The audio system starts with a 620-watt, 16-speaker setup. An optional 1,780-watt, 28-speaker Naim system adds kinesthetic seat shakers, front headrest speakers, and Dolby Atmos 7.1.

Modern Materials, Sustainably Sourced
Working with Fox Brothers, a Somerset weaver of fine wool since the 18th century, Bentley developed the world’s first 100 percent Merino wool automotive fabric. It is also the first automotive wool fabric certified under the Responsible Wool Standard. The new Ombré Walnut by Mulliner is made from up to 1,000 layers of responsibly sourced walnut off-cuts and recycled craft paper, pressed together and sliced to less than a millimeter thick. It flows through four shades, from deep black to light smoke. Sunburst Aluminum by Mulliner reinterprets the engine-turned dashboards of earlier Bentleys with a three-way brushed pattern. The interior palette includes 15 shades of olive-tanned leather, including the new Teal, Terra, and Glaze, plus 15 matching shades of Dinamica, Merino wool in five colors, six wood veneers, two technical finishes, and six Piano finishes: Black, Gravity Grey, Linen, Teal, Imperial Blue, and Cricket Ball.

“The Torcal represents something new, and I think unique. It has been engineered with great care to ensure it remains a Bentley to its core, enhanced rather than dominated by technology — from luxury, to refinement and effortless performance — the Torcal has taken the elements that define a Bentley to extraordinary new levels.”

– Martin Page, Product Line Director, Torcal
