Aston Martin calls itself an “EV delayer” and commits to V8s and V12s through 2035. CEO Adrian Hallmark said the brand’s first battery-electric car will no longer arrive in 2030 and is now expected sometime between 2033 and 2035. He refused to give a date beyond saying “It’s not 2031.” He confirmed a plan to keep the V8 and V12 in production through the end of 2035, using some form of hybrid assistance but avoiding heavy plug-in systems. The Valhalla stays the only plug-in hybrid in the lineup. EV spending is limited to research for now, while Aston keeps its technology links with Lucid and Mercedes-Benz.

The JAS Tensei NSX restomod is finished. JAS and Pininfarina have shown the production version of their reworked first-generation Honda NSX. JUDD Power enlarged the original V6 from 3.0 to 3.4 liters, and the naturally aspirated engine revs to 8,500 rpm and sends 414 hp to the rear wheels. Carbon fiber body panels bring dry weight down to about 2,756 lb. Only 35 will be built, at £770,000 each before tax, and buyers also supply the donor NSX.

RM Sotheby’s Hershey sale wraps up today, led by a Duesenberg and the first Auburn Speedster. The two-day auction at the Hershey Lodge in Pennsylvania is the official sale of the AACA Fall Meet and marks RM’s 20th year there. The top lot is a 1934 Duesenberg Model J Convertible Berline by Murphy, estimated at $900,000–$1.2 million. Next is a 1935 Auburn 851 Supercharged Speedster (body № U47-200, supercharger № 1001) that RM describes as the first 851 Speedster built, estimated at $850,000–$950,000. RM calls the car’s signed Ab Jenkins 100-mph dash plaque “fanciful.” The car was bought for $200 after an accident in the early 1950s and was fully restored by RM Auto Restoration in 1994. Results haven’t been published yet.

A Ridler-winning 9.2-liter V12 Corvette tribute heads to auction. Kindig-It’s one-off TwelveAir is inspired by the 1954 Corvair concept and wears an aluminum body. It is powered by a bespoke 9.2-liter aluminum V12 from Race Cast Engineering, rated at 650 hp and paired with a seven-speed transmission. The car debuted at the 2024 Detroit Autorama and is now listed with Richmond Auctions, with bidding open through October 17. No estimate has been published.

Facelifted BMW M5 spotted testing at the Nürburgring. Prototypes of the updated G90 M5 show a slimmer, shark-nose front with new lights, revised taillight graphics and BMW’s pillar-to-pillar Panoramic iDrive display inside. The plug-in hybrid twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 is expected to carry over with 717 hp and 738 lb-ft. Spy reports expect the update in 2027.
