Thousands of Porsche owners and enthusiasts have already purchased tickets and registered their cars to display at the first dedicated Air|Water event. Produced by the creative team behind the extremely successful Luftgekühlt air-cooled Porsche show series, Air|Water will take place on April 27 in Costa Mesa, CA. And we can now reveal the venue will be the sprawling Orange County Fairgrounds, conveniently located off the 73 freeway, a short distance from Newport Beach and the Pacific Coast Highway. Attendees will have access to ample parking as well as diverse food and beverage options.

Tickets can be purchased from air-water.com and attendees of all ages are invited to share and learn about the Porsche brand’s history as well as the current lineup of both racing and street-driven vehicles. The event will cater to enthusiasts who love to engage with the cars at an artistic and creative level as well as through the engineering and motorsports successes of the past 75 years.

Among the many attractions and interactive experiences to be announced over the coming weeks is the Broad Arrow Auction. Taking place later in the day at Air|Water, Porsches will cross the auction block, with the highlight being the sale of the Le Mans class-winning 1969 Porsche 908/02 Langheck Flunder Spyder, which itself was a star of Luftgekühlt 9. Currently valued at an estimated $4.75-5.57 million, chassis 908/02-005 will be instantly recognizable to Porsche enthusiasts both for its distinctive livery and the great names who piloted it to success, including Vic Elford, Richard Attwood, Dr Helmut Marko, Gérard Larrousse and Rudy Lins. Securing third overall and taking a class win at the 1970 Le Mans 24 Hours, it provided Porsche with a 1-2-3 podium sweep before the car was further etched into popular history by appearing in Steve McQueen’s masterpiece Le Mans movie.

Among the many VIP guests in attendance at Air|Water will be Porsche AG Development Driver and Brand Ambassador, Jörg Bergmeister. His successful motorsports career began in 2000 when he won the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. He subsequently claimed victory at all the important long distance races including Le Mans, Daytona, Sebring, Nürburgring, Petit Le Mans, and Spa. In North America, Jörg won the American Le Mans Series five times in the Porsche 911, as well as the 2006 Grand-Am Championship, culminating in his 2019 World Championship at Le Mans driving the Porsche 911 RSR in the GTE-Am class.

Jörg will be on-hand at Air|Water to meet fans, view the assembled machinery, and talk about his current development role with the latest GT3 and GT3 RS as well as his incredible career with fellow ex-Porsche Works, Flying Lizard driver and Luftgekühlt founder, Patrick Long.

Everything Porsche
The model mix at Air|Water will embrace every type of Porsche, from air- to water-cooled, two doors and four, gas and electric, street and race. There will be high-dollar restorations as well as survivor cars wearing their patina with pride. The latest GT3 RS will sit alongside the earliest 356, while the front-engined cars such as the 924, 944 and 928 will share space with the ever-popular overlanding Cayenne and Porsche supercars such as the 918 and Carrera GT.

Air|Water is trending to be the greatest collection of Porsche street and racing cars yet seen in Southern California. Enthusiast car entries are now at capacity and sold out but general admission tickets are still available at air-water.com.

And while we all patiently wait for the gates to open on April 27, Air|Water will release its first, official pre-event merchandise at air-water.com. It will be open for pre-order prior to the event, enabling fans to immerse themselves in the Porsche experience before arriving at Air|Water.

Please note, Air|Water is a private, ticketed event. Tickets will remain available while supplies last. Brands and companies wishing to exhibit or partner with Air|Water can use the contact form here: air-water.com/pages/event
